The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring PCSX2---PS2 and PC--- is an adventure game developed by WXP Inc and published by Universal Interactive and Tolkien Enterprises. It has a strong emphasis on an open-world perspective of the game and adheres to the original story of The Fellowship of the Ring strongly. The game starts out in the Shire where the player uses Frodo to complete quests such as selling Bag End and heading off to Rivendell. Players can also use Aragorn for a large portion of the game and Gandalf in the Mines of Moria. The game ends at Amon Hen where Frodo is shown leaving with Sam Gamgee to Mordor.
Critical Responses to the game were generally positive to mixed. IGN gave the game a 6.7/10, GameSpot gave it 3/5 stars and Amazon.com users gave it 3/5 stars also. Despite the ratings and some poor reviews, the game is the only game based on The Fellowship of the Ring that effectively integrates the original story and playable character into a game.
